Job Description

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

Are you a huge fan of Wizards of the Coast? Do you love Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons? Do you have data analysis skills and strategic vision? If so, the Business Intelligence team at Wizards is looking for an exceptional Data Analyst Intern. Over the course of 10-weeks, our intern will tackle problems raging from understanding the most popular cards in Magic: the Gathering Arena to assessing strategic market opportunities. Our intern will engage with the Wizards brand and will gain relevant field experience through day-to-day training, hands-on projects, exposure to executives, individual development planning and mentorship, interactive classes focused on better understanding the Magic and D&D brands as well as external events in the beautiful and thriving city of Seattle.

POSITION PURPOSE

As the Data Analyst Intern, you will be the voice of the data in strategic and tactical decisions around our products.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop new data sources that shed additional light into our businesses or players.

Mine existing or new data for actionable business insights

Work with business stakeholders to create recommendations that drive the business forward

QUALIFICATIONS

* One of the following:
* Working toward a MA/MS degree or equivalent degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Economics)
* Working toward a BA/BS degree or equivalent degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Economics), along with demonstrable programming experience


* Experience with SQL and one of the following: Python, R, Perl, C++, Java

Other Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people in a dynamic environment.

Good communications, written and verbal.

Well-organized, good at time management.

Detail-oriented with a passion for quality.
