Customer Strategic Marketing Intern_Team Target

Intern, Customer Marketing - Target

Function/Purpose:

We have an immediate need for a strong marketing intern with the desire to learn customer strategic marketing supporting the Target team. In this high-profile role, you will learn how to manage the strategy development and execution of Hasbro-branded retail programs for our Target retailer. Utilizing strong communication and collaboration skills, you will learn to partner in the creation of brand-centric, customer-focused omnichannel retail activation programs and sales presentations. In addition, you will learn to analyze and update weekly program development and report on status for internal and external use. This exciting role will be based in Providence, RI.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

* Gain knowledge in three critical areas: (1) Channel/Retailer Insights, (2) Planning and Execution, and (3) Internal liaison between sales & brand marketing.
* Gain experience in executing channel/account strategies, unique omnichannel marketing programs and partner with internal teams to execute customer retail activation plans that deliver against Hasbro's goals and objectives for the value, discount and impulse channels.
* Opportunity to partner with manage to develop, coordinate and lead marketing presentations to key buyers; develop strategy to execute key tent pole promotions leveraging new initiatives such as collector exclusives and online/digital/social media marketing activations; identify and analyze customer insights and shopping patterns to develop synergistic cross merchandising promotions; build relationships with key retail marketing counterparts.
* Opportunity to develop a close relationship with elite account marketing teams within channels to drive the execution of our brand blueprint aligning with the party calendar.
* Opportunity to form strategic alliances with all Hasbro partner licensors, such as Disney, Paramount, Universal and White Space Entertainment to drive the execution of major corporate initiatives (entertainment events, product launches, seasonal opportunities).
* Opportunity to partner with consumer products and third parties (licensees) to drive "one voice", cross category executions of major corporate initiatives (entertainment events, product launches, seasonal opportunities) aligning to the party calendar.
* Opportunity to partner with manager to develop exclusive strategy to include channel/account level, creating and managing exclusive product briefs across all brands; lead exclusive development meetings with Global and US Marketing to ensure alignment to the corporate and regional strategy; articulate the GC growth strategies and go to market plans to the Global and US Marketing teams ensuring product development aligns with channel/account needs; partner with finance and US Marketing to proactively gain approvals for channel items aligned with appropriate variable margin targets.
* Gain exposure in maintaining retail activation budgets for channel, utilizing discretionary USM investment, COB funds and trade merchandising strategies all align with channel goals and objectives.
* Opportunity to partner with business manager to analyze all relevant customer/shopper data and summarize into key learnings, identify opportunities/action items and present findings in conjunction with sales team to senior management at key timeframes.
* Opportunity to partner with manager to develop, measure and communicate results of point of sale strategy, placement, and execution with all cross functional teams to drive future product development.
* Actively participate Target account previews

* Knowledgeable on ecommerce and digital marketing
* Strong project management abilities; capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints and within budget parameters.
* Strategic vision and depth in understanding how the consumer reacts to marketing vehicles.
* Analytical skills to determine forecasted lifts, ROI, etc. for promotions

Education and Experience Requirements:

* Marketing, Sales or related experience in consumer-packaged goods, entertainment industry.
* Students pursuing Marketing, Advertising or related field preferred.
* Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
* Strong written and oral communication skills: ability to provide clear and concise information to external and internal stakeholders and the ability to influence effectively.
* Strong attention to detail and follow-up: capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously, under tight time constraints.
* Strong analytical skills: ability to interpret data to provide information to aid decision-making.
* Motivated, self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
