The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra, "You dream it. We build it." Join our team as a Staff Intake and Exhaust Design Engineer!

This is what you'll do:

• Deliver world-class clean sheet intake and exhaust system designs that meet Harley-Davidson requirements for quality, cost, timing, and build on H-D's industry leading look, sound, and reel.

• Develop and document intake and exhaust system best practices using standardized processes and tools, including benchmarking, design & simulation guidelines, DFMEA & DVP&R templates, drawing templates, critical path planning templates, and general knowledge management.

• Develop, integrate, and implement intake and exhaust system strategies and technology roadmaps across the H-D vehicle portfolio, including modularity and complexity strategies that support the cross-functional needs of the business.

• Create and manage "virtual shelf" proven technologies, components, and systems that support long-range system strategies and ensure world class product quality, cost, and performance.

Education Required
Position requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related technical area.

Masters Degree in Engineering or related technical area preferred.

Experience Required
We are looking for someone with eight or more years of engineering experience in vehicle component design, in addition to the following:

• Demonstrated experience with intake and exhaust systems, with knowledge of how component geometry influences system functionality. Proven track record of delivering intake and exhaust designs to production launch.

• Knowledgeable of industry standard practices and directional trends for intake and exhaust design.

• Demonstrated understanding of noise regulations, processes and procedures required to achieve World Wide Regulatory Standards.

• Confidence and affinity for hands-on design of difficult parts, assemblies, and drawings, leveraging complex drafted features, filleting, sheet metal, simplified reps, mechanism models, multi-sheet drawings, ISDX, and other surfacing tools.

• Past history of executing clean sheet drawing datum structures and dimensioning schemes, as well as multiple part tolerance stacks using both straight and RSS stack up methods.

• Demonstrated experience in designing parts for assembly.
