The Electrical Engineering Technical Lead is a key component of the leadership team at the Product Development Center where the next generations of Harley-Davidson Motorcycles are taking shape. Working with some of the best Engineers and Designers on their team they will bring the technical designs to life. Leading the charge and driving this level of change takes someone who is ready to take their hands-on experience to the next level and help create dreams of personal freedom.

Key Deliverables:

The Electrical Engineering Technical Lead will be responsible for supporting a various collection of projects spread across several vehicle platforms from technical design to execution in the areas of electrical systems/components. They will lead a flexible engineering team comprised of 3-5Engineers and Designers.

Their team will be working on new motorcycle programs with an array of internal and external stakeholders. This role works in a matrix organization with other high performing teams in marketing, product planning, styling, purchasing, manufacturing, etc. They will be very hands-on with their direct reports and these teams to ensure that projects meet the time, quality, and cost benchmarks.

Education Required

• This position requires a Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Masters of Science degree (MS) in a technical field or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred

Experience Required
The successful candidate will have a minimum of eight (8) years of hands-on engineering experience working directly in product development.

In addition they will have demonstrated the following:

• Skills/experience leading a small technical team of "direct reports" including recruiting, performance management and employee coaching/development

• Strong interest (direct experience desired) in motor vehicle engineering and design (auto, motorcycle, truck & bus, agriculture, etc.)

• Knowledge of whole vehicle systems with detailed electrical system/component design & integration experience

• Proven technical knowledge and design experience of existing vehicle technologies as well as be aware of and inform future vehicle technologies

• Creative approach to solving problems and capable to collect, analyze and interpret data

• Design/development experience from concept thru production launch.

• Ability to work beyond Electrical Engineering and apply basic electro-mechanical engineering skills/experience

• Proven ability to work within a structured development process
