The Design Engineer - Platform will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop and deliver vehicle systems and components (bodywork, chassis, electrical and rider vehicle interface) components to production. They will deliver optimal designs while adhering to project targets of performance, cost and quality. The engineer will use tools such as CAD models and drawings, predictive analysis and conventional engineering calculations to demonstrate and communicate robustness of designs. The engineer must develop and track work through detailed project plans, lead presentations of design options through a formalized design review process, perform DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, analyze test results and bring closure to test findings.

Education Required
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.

Experience Required
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following:

• Demonstrated history of vehicle system and component design, using DFM and DFA skills. The candidate has created and used FMEA and DVP&R processes. Can provide technical guidance to support personnel.

• Strong understanding of fundamental physics and demonstrated use of a variety of tools to introduce and to improve designs (i.e. engineering calculations, bolted joint analysis, FEA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis)

• Demonstrated examples of innovative thinking and creative problem solving approaches and experience with root cause identification methodologies and tools

• Understands project management tools and principles (requirements, scheduling, risk mitigation, budget, and metrics) through training and experience

• Demonstrated familiarity with Creo or comparable CAD tools.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
