Job Description

The Creative Intern is a part time, temporary position responsible for art production, creative and administrative support to the Learning Without Tears (LWT) Creative group. This position involves graphic design projects, art production services, maintenance of the digital asset management system, and marketing work related to graphic design.

Job Duties

* Provide design-related art production support such as scanning, coloring, and filing illustrations.
* Update products and product packaging.
* Learn and maintain knowledge of LWT's products, services, and design standards.
* Update and maintain the cloud-based asset management system (Libris) processes, including digital sorting, uploading, filing, and adding image descriptors and related tagging data.
* Organize and maintain the Creative group's print samples.
* Assist in updating marketing webinars and other digital presentations.
* Develop skills for basic graphic sketches, photo touch up, junior-level designs, and copy layouts for products and publications utilizing typography, layout, art production, design, and editing skills.
* Follow design direction to update and edit art production files for a range of print and web-based marketing communication tools, in collaboration with team.
* Assist in updates, proofing, and pre-flighting art files for a range of products, publications, packaging, and other collateral in support of marketing and product development initiatives.
* Provide photography selection support for design projects, as needed.
* Assist the Creative Group on special projects including print, online, video graphics, research, design trends and others, as needed.
* Other duties and projects as assigned and time allows.

Required Skills/Education

* High school or college student, or or equivalent.
* Understanding of design and layout.
* Good knowledge of print, typography, and color theory.
* Desire to learn and expand knowledge of design and related processes.
* Ability to maintain accurate art files from provided specifications.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, within deadline, and in an environment of ever changing priorities, and fast paced timelines.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Good problem-solving capabilities.
* Ability to take direction and learn from feedback and critiques.
* Ability to work both independently (with direction) and with a team.
* Professional level interpersonal skills in dealing with co-workers.
* Ability to excel in a rapidly changing environment.
* Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
* Functional knowledge of MS Office.
* Ability to work on PC and Mac platforms.
* Strong attention to detail.
