Job Description


Hancock Askew is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant to join our Norcross, GA office. As a member of our firm, you will have unlimited opportunities to learn and grow in all areas of public accounting and be exposed to a broad range of projects. Key responsibilities include:

* Utilize Pro Systems fx software to prepare individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and non-profit tax returns
* Develop an understanding of Federal, State, and Local tax codes and regulations
* Research tax issues as they arise and recommend strategies that align with business goals
* Become adept at meeting challenging client requirements and industry deadlines
* Developing strong client relationships through excellent customer service, quality work products, and the highest professional integrity.
* Work within the team to complete other duties as business needs dictate


* Bachelors' degree in Accounting, with a Master's in Accounting preferred
* A previous tax internship is preferred.
* CPA or CPA eligible strongly preferred
* Well-rounded knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
* Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be deadline-oriented and highly organized, with the demonstrated ability to prioritize work effectively and adapt quickly to changing client needs and priorities. We are looking for team players who will work well in a fast-paced, collaborative, results-based team environment. Excellent client service skills are required, as well as the demonstrated ability to earn the confidence, trust and respect of clients and team members.
