Job Description


The Publicist, Network Program Publicity is responsible for developing, conceptualizing and executing consumer communications and publicity initiatives for original programming on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The Temporary Publicity Managert works closely with Programming, Creative Services, Production, Digital, On-Air, Consumer Marketing and Social Media on a number of company initiatives and requests. The Publicist will also function as a department resource for distribution of press releases, media list updates, clip reports, award submissions and various other duties as required.


* Create and implement publicity campaigns for assigned projects.
* Pitch all areas of media including TV (morning shows, daytime and news programs), trade, radio, digital etc.
* Coordinate and manage sets visits and press junkets, while closely with on set production, executive producers and show creators.
* Escort talent at events, premieres and cover interviews.
* Work closely with all internal lines of business including: marketing, social, production, legal
* Experience working with external clients i.e.: PR firms, managers and agents.



* 5+ years' experience in entertainment communications.
* Strong knowledge of the PR field with experience in press campaign development and execution of creative, strategic and well-thought communication plans.
* Very strong writing and pitching skills (writing samples required upon request).
* Bachelor's degree strongly desired OR equivalent experience


* Must be able to handle multiple projects with attention to detail and follow-up
* Must be a proficient communicator, both written and verbal
* Must demonstrate proficiency in and working knowledge of relevant professional concepts and related processes
* Must demonstrate ability to develop and foster relationships with media, executives, producers and talent
* Ability to be flexible and handle fast-paced environments
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
* Knowledge of social media platforms and creative ideation of what works
* Work fast and proficiently with ability to be easily redirected by senior staff
* Must manage photo processes, including identifying photo days for assigned shows and image selection and placement
