Job Description

Under direct supervision, responsible for professionally installing cable in field site hole and spool the cable as it is pulled from the hole. Load, perform pre-trip inspection, transport cable spool from the shop to the field site location and rig up. Band cable to the tubing as the cable is run into the hole, splice or pack off cable and handle pulls of cable to the spool. Responsible for unloading cable at the shop and reloading for next trip. Prepare paperwork to include DOT requirements, IFTA reports, billable and non-billable hours and mileage. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. Develops a basic understanding of energy industry activities and artificial lift products and services at the shop and well site. Skills are typically acquired through 6+ months of experience as an Operator Asst-Cable Spooling I. Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations.  Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines. Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes. The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required. Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required. Class A CDL license and high school diploma or similar education (GED) is required. Basic computer skills are preferred. Local candidates or candidates within reasonable driving distance of the work location preferred.

Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Operator Assistant II, Service Operator I and Service Operator II.
