Key Competencies/Position Requirements:

  • Under general direction, demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
  • May apply advanced fluid mechanics theory and design to the rheological characterization of cement slurries, flow modeling of slurry transport, viscoelasticity, and friction.
  • May apply advanced geomechanics technologies in the areas of cement testing, stress analysis and mechanical property determination.
  • May perform numerical modeling, data analysis, correlation and model development utilizing existing commercial software and assist in development of new modeling software.
  • May develop chemical products and processes by providing chemical and engineering analysis applicable to need.
  • May design and perform specialized tests and simulations including design and construction of modeling apparatus and data acquisition systems.
  • May assist in development and testing of software products by providing engineering functions and may provide field support for existing software products. Assist in the preparation of detailed project plan and performance of the project as directed by project leaders and management. Resolve technical/operational questions with representatives of other

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BS degree with 4 years of direct experience
  • Experience in well cementing operations
  • Slurry formulation
  • Cement slurry testing including compatibility, preparation, curing and mechanical testing methods

Desired Requirements:

  • PhD in Mechanical Petroleum or Chemical engineering or other science, technology or related degree or MS with 2 years of relative experience
  • Expertize in multiphase fluid mechanics, non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, rheology of polymeric systems and/or particulate suspensions. 
  • Must be well-versed with Transport phenomena (fluid, heat and mass transfer) and Reaction kinetics.
  • Experience with mathematical modeling of physical, chemical and industrial processes. Experience with analytical and numerical methods for solving PDEs.
  • Familiarity with basic data science methods (statistical modeling, machine learning, DOE).
  • Ability to understand customer needs and formulate project goals with alignment with company value proposition.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Willingness to share ideas with the team and collaboratively generate value for the company in form of IP, new products and processes. multiphase flow, complex geological and geomechanical conditions, effects of stimulation chemicals
  • Familiar with mechanical testing methods
  • May lead the development and testing of software products by providing engineering functions and may provide field support for existing software products.
  • Coding ability: C++, C#, R and Mat Lab.
  • Familiar with machine learning algorithms
