Responsibilities

Under broad direction from the Discipline Manager, leads and supervises a team of architects and software developers (15+ members):

  • Develop and manage a talent pool of architects and software developers
  • Proactively manage the technical and leadership succession plan for the group
  • Identify talent gaps within the architectural and development team based on business strategy and develop a plan to fill those gaps
  • Develop specific plans and monitor individuals’ growth in the team
  • Provide and monitor the mentoring programs for the team, especially junior team members and new hires
  • Develop and execute plans to obtain new technologies to meet future product development needs
  • Create architectural design and coding standards
  • Develop team performance metrics and monitor the quality and outputs of the team
  • Collaborate with ODC (Offshore Development Center) to develop an effective and efficient development process
  • Cultivate an environment for collaboration between Architecture & Dev, QA, and UX team
  • Collaborate with team to resolve technical challenges

 

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Professional certification and licenses related to software development is a plus
  • Solid experience in Scrum and Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid experience in either architect or principle developer role
  • Experience in real-time and data acquisition applications
  • Oilfield science and engineering application experience a plus
  • Solid experience with:
    • C++, C#, Java language
    • Desktop development for scientific domains & business
    • Web application development for scalable client/server and data APIs
    • Developing data driven applications
