Job Description


Responsible for performing laboratory test procedures to support production in the process of approving, product release; accountable to analyze and assess trends, recommend new or improved procedures including the thorough, validation of new processes and on-going monitoring of systems and equipment, Acts as sole authority to interpret results of product testing and determination of product disposition.

Principal Responsibilities:

* Conduct required chemical tests and interpret results to ensure quality products for release or to place product on hold.
* Chemical/ physical tests necessary to support release of in-process and finished product solutions and raw material chemicals and components.
* Chemical/ physical tests necessary to support product stability studies, critical plant systems, product/ process validation studies and new product development.
* Conduct standardized tests using a variety of wet chemistry and instrument test methods. Instrumentation includes HPLC, FTIR, UV-spectrophotometer, AA Spectrometer, Autotitrators (including KF), TOC analyzer, and pH and conductivity meters.
* Responsible for documentation and reporting for all chemistry tests in a timely, legible and accurate manner.
* Review all tests results and determines acceptability or initiate and conduct further investigation - including additional testing, root cause analysis, conclusions summarized in written records
* Accountable to assess, develop, write and implement protocols as needed for improved testing and quality of product including:
* Stability testing to determine product shelf life
* New product validation protocols, out of specifications limits.
* Ensure the complete and accurate documentation and reporting for all microbiological tests
* Participate in all third party audits as subject matter expert.
* Accountable to manage CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) and lead projects related to chemistry on a global basis if applicable.

Candidate Education:

Required Bachelor's Degree In Science required with degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or Physics preferred.

Candidate Experience:

Required 1 year Previous laboratory experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, medical device or healthcare fields.
