SUMMARY

The Internal Admissions Counselor will be responsible for the administration of the University's undergraduate Live Chat program that enables prospective students to get immediate answers to their basic questions at any time, and be automatically connected to an in-house admissions officer during regular business hours. GMercyU's in-house admissions officer also will represent the University at recruitment events, and build relationships with prospective students and families through phone, email, text and in-person communication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Recruit students for campus undergraduate programs by building relationships with prospective students through phone, email, text and in-person outreach; support students throughout the entire admissions and enrollment process.

Make Admissions presentations; interview prospective students (in person or via electronic means); review and maintain applicant files; make decisions and/or recommendations regarding admissibility; determine merit scholarship eligibility and disseminate information to applicants and family members.

Actively contact interested students, and serve as an expert resources on admissions requirements, program options, accreditation, residential life, and other benefits of choosing GMercyU

Provide real-time assistance during business hours to prospective students seeking information via our Live Chat service, and quickly follow up with students who request information via a paid advertisement, virtual tour experience, or other online inquiry.

Promptly respond to prospective student inquiries received during non-business hours (via Live Chat, email, click-to-call campaigns, and inquiry forms) the next business day.

Schedule and monitor recruitment activities for students in your enrollment pipeline via the University's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Serve as a liaison to International Student Learning department to ensure international applicants have the information and support they need

Assist with the maintenance of Admissions student information systems to ensure data integrity

May assist in the development and implementation of approved marketing campaigns to prospective students to generate interest in academic programs

Attend off campus events during times of heavy recruitment travel, as needed.

Serve on appropriate college committees

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree required. One year of sales, admissions and/or interviewing experience preferred.

Technical Skills

Proficiency with a personal computer for word processing, spreadsheet creation and management and data base management.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret professional journals; ability to articulate to diverse populations information about Gwynedd-Mercy College. Excellent public speaking skills. Fluency is Spanish is highly desired but not required.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to work with statistical information.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply principles of logic and problem solving to a wide range of problems. Individual must be able to think critically.

Interpersonal Skills

Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others. Self-direction and independent work style are very important, along with the ability to work as part of a team.
