Job Description

Group One Trading, a dynamic options trading firm, is seeking a Quantitative Analyst Intern to join our Trading Strategy team. Candidates should possess superb analytical, technical, and communication skills. Previous exposure to option theory is a requirement.

The primary focus of this position will be quantitative research and analysis. You will work with a small team to form a hypothesis and back test your ideas, while receiving continuous feedback from our quantitative developers and Trading Strategy team. At the end of the project, you will present your findings to our senior managers and traders. The ideal candidate will be able to learn the fundamentals of our trading style quickly, and propose enhancements which add value to our tools and trading.

You will be mentored by our Trading Strategy team and gain exposure to the business of equity options trading. You will gain hands-on experience with a team that designs proprietary trading strategies in an ever-changing, fast-paced, and competitive environment. You will experience the financial markets first hand, and come to appreciate the culture at Group One.


* Research our existing trading strategies and propose improvements to our tools and trading.
* Evaluate the performance of proposed ideas, utilizing historical and live data to test against statistically significant data sets.
* Work closely with our quantitative developers to translate prototypes into production ready software.
* Collaborate with our Business Intelligence team so that we are always collecting new and relevant data metrics.
* Provide training and guidance for traders on how to use new features and apply the quantitative research from our findings.
* Communicate solutions effectively via documentation.

Skills and Requirements:

* Previous exposure to option theory is a requirement.
* Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field; Masters/PhD candidates preferred.
* Superior quantitative and logical reasoning skills.
* 2+ years of experience with computer programming languages.
