Job Description

Responsibilities include:

1. General Supervision and Management of the Accounting Department, including Monthly Closing, Quarterly and Year End Audit.

2. Responsible for day-to-day processes/activities of the general ledger, accounts payable, and cash management functions.

3. Manage the monthly closing schedule to ensure production of preliminary monthly financial statements within established time parameters.

4. Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements

5. Assist in the completion of monthly financial statement package, external surveys and benchmarking.

6. Interact with external auditors for annual audit which includes the preparation and support of annual financial and supporting work papers.

7. Oversee Profit and Loss statements of the Griffin Facility Practice.

8. Hire and train support staff.

9. Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices

10. Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing

11. Help in development of reports for management or regulatory bodies

12. Monitors status and accuracy of Griffin Facility Practice Plan monthly statistical reporting processes.

13. Responsible for the generation of routine, monthly financial reports, as well as those requested on an ad hoc basis. Reports are extracted from a multitude of source systems.

14. Reviews approves the monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure the integrity of financial statement reporting.

15. Assists Controller and Accounting staff with formulation of departmental Operating and Capital Budgets.
