Job Description

Our water + environment team develops technical and strategic solutions that keep the community healthy and resilient-with a right-sized, responsive approach.

Responsibilities:

* Support senior engineers by performing specific and limited portions of their more broad assignments.
* Provide support for study and design projects including collection, conveyance, pumping, treatment and distribution systems and environmental compliance for municipal, county, state, aviation, industrial, and private entities.
* Perform stormwater modeling, design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work.
* Assist in the design and production of engineering drawings and specifications for delivery of projects.
* Check, interpret and revise engineering drawings. Plan and conduct code research. Research design options and document findings. Coordinate with other disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications

* B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or like degree with relevant experience is required.
* 1 to 3 years' experience in environmental/water resources engineering consulting for local government/municipal or industrial clients.
* Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire with intent to obtain Professional Engineering licensure in the State of Alabama when eligible.
* Understanding of environmental regulations and potential application to clients' needs required.
* Experience with stormwater modeling, CAD, and GIS.
* Proven experience in developing project plans, anticipating and addressing project issues, leading meetings with clients, and directing the completion of technical reports.
