Job Summary
Performs general law enforcement duties, including but not limited to, enforcing laws, hospital policies and procedures, protecting hospital, staff, patients, and visitors persons and property.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Education
Job related course work beyond high school - Graduate of Police Academy
Minimum Experience
1 year - Prior work experience
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
SCDL - SC DRIVERS LICENSE - LSCD
CERT SC CLASS 1 POLICE OFFICER - SCPO
Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)
SC Driver's license with no record during the previous five years for suspension of driver's license as a result of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages or dangerous drugs, driving while impaired (or the equivalent), reckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter, or leaving the scene of an accident. (Lawson Code LSCD)

Other Required Experience
Must submit to Law Enforcement Officer Aptitude Battery Inventory Test prior to employment and achieve minimum acceptable rating to be considered for employment - Required
Must submit to Polygraph Screening prior to employment to determine whether anything in the past makes the candidate unqualified to serve as a Police Officer - Required
Certification through International Association of Hospital Security and Safety - Preferred
Prior experience in the military/armed forces - Preferred
College level coursework in criminal justice - Preferred
