Job Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day processes of the Center for Pediatric Medicine Asthma Program, with emphasis on patient and professional education, advocacy, committee participation, and program development in collaboration with the CPM leadership team. Ensures that effective, high quality services are provided to patients of CPM with efficiency and care.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Education

Associate's Degree - Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Minimum Experience

3 years - Experience in clinical and health education and demonstrated success in the area of asthma management or related respiratory area required. 

Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

RRT REG RESPIRATORY THERAPIST - CRRT

RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTIONER - LRCP

JOB RELATED CERTIFICATION - COTR

Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)

Lawson code COTR is for the Current Asthma Educator Certification (AE-C) National Asthma Educators Certification Board.

In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements

N/A

Other Required Experience

  • Experience in the areas of case management, and patient advocacy - Preferred
  • Advanced credentials such as RRT-NPS ( neonate/pediatric specialist) or certified pediatric RN - Preferred
  • A working knowledge of asthma management techniques as described and defined by the National Guidelines for Diagnosis and Management of Asthma (National Institutes of Health, National Asthma Education and Prevention Program, August 2007)- Required
