Job Summary
Performs duties related to patient care procedures under direct supervision and as defined in the GHS permissive procedure list. Observes and monitors patient's condition and records pertinent information on the chart; assists the health care team with specific treatments and/or procedures.
While performing job functions, serves as a role model in demonstrating effective communication skills with families, patients, and health care team members; maintains patient confidentiality and demonstrates sensitivity to the patient's dignity and right to privacy; implements and maintains established department and hospital policies and procedures related to quality assurance, environmental, HIPPA, and infection control; maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and family members in accordance with established departmental policy.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Education
Job related course work beyond high school - EMT Training, Paramedic, Medical Corpsman Training; Nursing Assistant, PCT, CMA or Surgical Technician, Phlebotomy
Minimum Experience
1 year - Nursing Assistant, PCT, Phlebotomist, Surgical Technician, Medical Corpsman, CMA, EMT, Paramedic
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses
JOB RELATED CERTIFICATION - COTR
Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable)
South Carolina Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) OR certification in field of training (EMT, CMA, ST, etc.)
