The Network Administrator will be focused on the company infrastructure, including the replacement, setup, maintenance and security of all network devices.  Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks. Develops and maintains all network hardware, applications, security, and network configurations. Troubleshoots network performance issues and creates and maintains service level agreement with the company.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Network administration duties include configuring, installing and maintaining network hardware and infrastructure, VoIP phones, printers, firewalls, switches, routers, Wi-Fi access points, battery backups and cabling.
  • Installation of new hardware and software upgrades for all layered products after presenting a plan for user testing and migration to the new product level.
  • Monitors system performance and proposes software updates or parameter changes to enhance system performance; develops a plan for testing, implementing, and measuring the results of system performance.
  • Works with hardware and software customer support service organizations as required solving problems.
  • Building relationships with outside vendors and negotiating services.
  • Responsible for WAN contracts and technology deployments and upgrades for both domestic and international telecom.
  • Duties also include working with employees to resolve hardware/software issues, spec IT requirements for services and meet expected IT service levels and standards.
  • Shares technical and functional expertise with other members of the team as required.
  • Attends training sessions, reads instructional manuals, and reads industry periodicals to maintain a current understanding of the various operating systems and maintained software.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Travel to various locations domestic and international as needed.
  • Occasionally work during non-business hours to perform maintenance and installations.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems management or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant technical experience
  • Industry certifications a plus
  • LAN/WAN design and installation experience desired
  • Cisco Route/Switch knowledge desired
  • Juniper Network OS knowledge desired
  • Various IT security technology experience a plus
  • Experience with network monitoring solutions
  • Wireless technology implementation and troubleshooting knowledge
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills required
  • MPLS and BGP Experience a plus
  • DNS and DHCP technologies desired
  • Previous experience in system performance monitoring & fine-tuning
