As an Automation & Controls Technician, you will be responsible for providing advanced level of expertise related to the highly-technical production equipment, electrical controls, and lasers that enable us to be a worldwide leader in our industry.

You are qualified for this position if you have a 2 or 4-year degree in Electromechanical, Electronics, Automation, or a related field. General Summary

At Greenheck, we understand the value of high performance. As an Automation & Controls Technician, you will be an integral part of an elite team of technicians. This team is tasked to provide continual support of all Greenheck’s operations. To support operations, the Automation & Controls Team provides round-the-clock service. The team occasionally works overtime, and is responsive to unforeseen situations which may cause a change in schedule.

The team also has the privilege to assist in original equipment manufacturing at the Machine Development Center. As an Automation and Controls Technician, you will design, build and test state of the art equipment to fit the needs of manufacturing. Greenheck will provide you with the tools, training, techniques, and environment to ensure you are equipped for success.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety practices are executed, including use of protective equipment as required.  Maintain work areas to meet or exceed company housekeeping and safety standards.

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting & repair , development of manufacturing systems, including but not limited to:

    • Electrical distribution
    • PLC, HMI, and windows based operator interface
    • Industrial communication
    • Electronic and electromechanical systems
    • CO² and Fiber laser
    • Various motion control and robotics
    • Modern and legacy controllers
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Support the Machine Development Center

    • Design electrical power and control systems
    • Program PLC, Motion Control, and CNC controllers
    • Design, build, and wire panels
    • Utilize appropriate documentation tools
    • Develop project scope and written specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities on highly technical equipment including PM work orders on laser resonators and the entire beam path.

  • Assist the maintenance mechanics and provide direction on diagnostic and repair exercises relating to issues of a highly technical nature.

  • Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System to maintain equipment records and work order history. 

  • Work with Automation & Control team members to ensure proper communication and professionalism.

  • Order parts and services as needed.

  • Proactively support continuous improvement activities.
