Job Description

Public Money Reporter (Job 1777)

The Greeley Tribune is hiring a watchdog public money reporter who has a knack for developing their own enterprise and investigative stories while balancing the daily needs of a high-functioning, efficient newsroom. The ideal candidate has experience with enterprise and investigative reporting, and is capable of quickly building sources to generate story ideas. You've demonstrated strong continuing coverage on big stories and executed series-style articles on important issues in a given beat. Greeley is city of 100,000-plus that sits within the 300,000-person county of Weld. Along with the Board of Weld County Commissioners and the Greeley City Council, the public money reporter keeps tabs on a 22,000-student school district, a Division 1 university and a high-performing community college. As The Tribune's public money reporter, you would keep tabs on behind-the-scenes politics, as well as issues that impact everyday people through meeting attendance and constant beat management. If you're the right fit for this important beat, let's chat.
