The Product Manager is responsible for planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, working cross-functionally to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met, and ensuring the product supports Imperial's overall strategy and goals. Assigned product categories would include aproximately 175 suppliers and 10,000 SKUs. 

  • Introduce new products to increase sales while achieving specific gross profit and revenue objectives.  Develop marketing plans on key product groups, communicate with and coordinate proper resources for training on new products to ensure successful product launch.
  • Manage assigned categories including researching customer needs, competitor product lines and adding or deleting products while exceeding targeted objectives. Become the SME - Subject Matter Expert in assigned categories.
  • Provide supplier management to optimize performance for assigned product groups and source selection.  Work closely with Purchasing Team on new products and ongoing supplier management to ensure the best source(s) and management utilization thru the product lifecycle.  Supports supplier change initiatives (including global sourcing where applicable) ensuring product meets all requirements of the offering.
  • Coordinates promotion of existing product lines with Marketing Services, Purchasing, Operations, and suppliers to support sales objectives.
  • Supports Global Sourcing team in identification and evaluation of product opportunities
  • Supports the Product Training, Sales Training and Marketing teams with appropriate expertise, data, and supplier support and project awareness promoting a systematic process approach.
  • Maintain focus on continuous improvement relevant to processes and procedures to increase service and lower cost



  • 2 years of experience in Marketing or Product Management with a relevant Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and relevant product knowledge required
  • 4 years of Marketing, Product Management,  or related industrial product application experience with a relevant Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience in industrial distribution and knowledge of Fasteners, Chemicals, Electrical, and fleet related products a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, analytical, prioritization skills, well organized. Excellent PC knowledge, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Ability to facilitate group training.
