Position Description

  • Responsible for demand generation in the assigned geographic region including market penetration, new opportunity development, customer relations and customer retention.
  • Identify key opportunities in offshore markets and creates sales plan to grow profitable sales in targeted countries.
  • Interface with suppliers on key sales opportunities.
  • Maximize gross profit opportunities by ensuring pricing integrity. Contribute to formulation of pricing guidelines and control process.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Proactively interact with each account on a regular and ongoing basis, utilizing a wide array of available
  • communication channels, to maximize their purchasing with Grainger.
  • Research and analyze the strategic business direction and needs of each assigned account to determine how
  • Grainger can best align itself as a product and service partner for all current and future business needs of the account.
  • Determine, prepare and present the appropriate “Grainger Value Package” to each account and review how Grainger
  • can add value and help with each account’s purchasing needs.
  • Regularly exercise independent discretion and judgment to determine whether a potential customer qualifies to do
  • business with Grainger, as well as negotiating transaction terms, conditions and pricing for each existing and new account.
  • Evaluate and determine the appropriate marketing and promotional approaches to grow the business and sales for
  • each account.
  • Coordinate and lead activities and communication between each account and Grainger’s business departments.

  • Planning skills- strong time and account management skills. Must have the ability to align planning objectives with a
  • pipeline development process to grow and develop territory revenue.
  • Business Acumen- understands buying decisions, buying processes and has the ability to position Grainger as a
  • strategic advantage for our customers.
  • Strong customer orientation and the drive to establish long last relationships as well as expand contacts with key
  • decision makers within each customer.
  • Communication skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Understands and uses basic selling
  • techniques: open, explore, present, and over coming objections.
  • Personal attributes must include tenacious, assertiveness, peer leadership, and resiliency.
  • Information and record keeping: Keeps general contact information and strategic selling plan updated in CRM using
  • correct spelling and grammar.
  • Understands how to position the value of internet commerce and will demonstrate an aptitude to embrace e-business
  • as a viable cost savings channel for customers.
  • Undergraduate Degree or equivalent preferred with sales/business acumen generally attained through 3+ years of
  • complex B2B selling.
  • Fully Bilingual both English and Spanish
  • Occasional Travel
