SUMMARY

The Assistant Operations Manager directs the activities of the operations and production staff. Works closely with the Operations Manager on planning, organizing, and controlling administrative functions including developing effective service mechanisms and provide leadership to ensure customer satisfaction. The Assistant Operations Manager serves as the Operations Manager in the absence of an Operations Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage employees reporting directly/indirectly to the position, providing leadership, motivation, development, and discipline in order to promote quality performance and achievement of financial and quality objectives.
* Provide for the protection, maintenance and custody of company assets through the adherence of federal, state and company safety and compliance standards of all employees.
* Ensure all paperwork and documentation or office management issues are processed or responded to in a timely manner ensuring the Accounting department performs its function in an accurate and timely manner.
* Responsible for regulatory enforcement and safety compliance.
* Resolve service issues with branches, vendors or other service providers either directly or through alerts to management.
* Performs other related essential duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCES

* Associate's Degree in Business Administration or Operations Management, or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Minimum 5 years of moving and storage/van line experience in an operational area, with 2 or more years of supervisory experience.
* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
* Ability to read, interpret and create simple correspondence and memos.
* Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest.
