As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing circuit boards for key product subsystems. You will work closely with a senior systems lead and cross-functional team to collect requirements, design solutions, and debug issues with your design. Your designs will include cutting-edge consumer technologies and will ship in high volume. You will have the chance to work closely with manufacturing partners and key vendors to ensure your designs meet customers' needs. The Google Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality team is a fast moving group of engineers, designers, and research scientists tasked with building the foundations for great immersive and augmented reality apps and prototyping novel, delightful user experiences. We are focused on making virtual reality accessible to millions of people through mobile devices, and its scope continues to grow and evolve. ## Responsibilities * Work with a senior engineering lead to design and debug electrical circuit boards for consumer electronic devices * Create electrical schematics, oversee circuit board layout and conduct electrical design reviews. * Collaborate with other team members, including software, mechanical engineering, industrial design, and outside partners. * Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the factory during prototype builds. ## Qualifications Minimum qualifications: * BA/BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience. * 2 years of experience in consumer electronics, mobile devices or wearable device circuit board design and debugging as an intern or full-time employee. * Experience in electrical engineering theory and applying theory to practice. Preferred qualifications: * Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. * Experience in bringing high volume products to mass production. * Experience with and knowledge of broad range of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) technologies: rigid, flex, hybrid, etc. * Knowledge of embedded environments; familiar with microprocessor and micro-controller design. * Ability to write drivers and firmware in C. * * * At Google, we don't just accept difference - we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our products and our community.
