Job Description

Richter Healthcare Consultants was founded in 1999 to offer financial solutions for healthcare providers.

We have grown to more than 50 employees and offer consulting, accounting and revenue cycle management to post-acute providers nationwide.

We are located in Twinsburg right off the I-480/Rt 82 Exit

Due to our most recent growth, we are seeking to add a Medical Collector to our firm.

Compensation includes a starting salary of $16-$18 per hour along with excellent benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, PTO, and 401k with company match.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Data Entry
  • Insurance verification, statement generation, follow up
  • Respond to Patient Billing Inquiries
  • Handle daily billing calls on behalf of assigned clients/accounts
  • Follow up on billing inquiries made after hours
  • Follow up on billing concerns from residents, family and staff
  • Complete tracking worksheets
  • Perform Billing and Collection Functions
  • Perform Private or Self Pay collection procedures
  • Perform patient account analysis
  • Complete basic bookkeeping functions (census or charge entry, cash application, adjustment processing)
  • Generate and submit billing for private pay sources timely and accurately
  • Document billing and collection activity in accordance with Richter Healthcare Consultants policy and procedure
  • Work effectively within client and/or Richter Healthcare Consultants billing systems

Education & Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma, Associates Degree preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of professional billing experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Collections experience
  • Experience billing Medicaid patient liability
  • Must possess an extensive knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid requirements, procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to healthcare providers
  • Must have the ability to make independent decisions
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with team members, other staff, residents of client facilities, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
  • Must possess a high degree of attention to detail and best practice as it relates to client data
  • Must possess basic computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
