Golder Associates is currently seeking a Pavement/Materials Engineer to join our team in Whitby, Ontario.

As an Intermediate engineer, you will work with junior to senior geotechnical colleagues on a variety of projects, with particular emphasis on pavement engineering for land development, transportation, infrastructure, and power projects.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
* Work with teams working on Municipal/MTO pavement engineering and materials engineering projects from the proposal stage to planning and directing the field program, scheduling laboratory tests, analyzing the results, and writing reports;
* Manage projects and provide technical direction to project engineers;
* Ensuring quality control/quality assurance of field work, field data analysis and interpretation, and engineering calculations;
* Working with other members of the Materials and Pavement Engineering Group;
* Develop pavement business and market Golder's services;
* Helping develop and participate in strong interoffice and intercompany teams to achieve project goals;
* Writing high quality pavement engineering reports;
* Ensuring client satisfaction, including maintaining existing good client relationships, and developing new ones;
* Mentor junior staff and assist the management team.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in civil or geological (geotechnical) engineering, (a M.Sc. or M. Eng. Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Pavement/Materials/Geotechnical is preferred);
* Four to eight (4-8) years of relevant pavement and materials engineering experience is preferred, but consideration will be given to strong candidates who may not fulfill this requirement;
* Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario;
* Set realistic goals and consistently achieve targets;
* Present technical papers at conferences and meetings;
* Proven experience in planning and supervising complex pavement and materials investigations and in writing reports and technical communications;
* Strong all-round academic knowledge of geotechnical/materials engineering;
* Proven experience working on and completing pavement design analysis for 400 series highways;
* Proven experience in analyzing FWD data and AASHTO design software;
* Experience or aptitude for proposal writing, client development, working in a team setting against tight timelines and other skills appropriate to consulting;
* Excellent communication skills (both oral and written);
* Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment;
