Golder Associates is currently seeking an HSSE Advisor to join our North American team. In this role, you will assist the O&G Sector HSSE Lead with the development, implementation and promotion of HSSE strategies, procedures and systems across Canada, in support of Imperial Department interests. This position can be located in Montreal, Mississauga, London, or St. Catharines.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
* Daily communication and coordination of HSSE procedures, policies and systems with Site Supervisors, Field Technicians, Project Managers, Group Leaders and the client (as applicable)
* Mentor/coach Site Supervisors and Field Crew (Golder and Subcontractor) personnel on Loss Prevention System (LPS) principles and tools
* As a qualified Train-the-Trainer for LPS, schedule and conduct Standard and Supervisor/Manager training per client expectations
* Advise on regulatory compliance to support Imperial Department operations across Canada
* HSSE orientation for new hires
* Conduct frequent Site Assessments and Loss Prevention Observations for field activities when we are Prime Contractor; participate in additional site engagements of Golder personnel working on other sites
* Administrative activities include HSSE records and metrics management, Project Planner Database data input and quality assurance/control, documentation control management, weekly communication updates, creation of safety alerts, Site Supervisor and Short Service Worker programs
* Provide assistance, review and tracking of graduation process of Golder employees from SSW into supervisor levels
* Assist in the preparation of HSSE documentation (e.g. ERP, HaSEP, JSA) before site deployment and actively participate in post-field reviews to capture learnings
* Assist in facilitating and managing HSSE activities on the work site
* Conduct investigations of loss & near loss incidents and validation of solutions
* Interact directly with client Project Managers, Team Leads and Safety Advisors pertaining to HSSE site-specific reporting and/or concerns
* Evaluate subcontractor requests per Golder Subcontractor Management process
* Ongoing coaching and training of subcontractors for work on Imperial Department sites
* Preparation and submission of loss, near loss, LPO, V&V, permit audits as final client deliverables
* Prepare materials and active participation in monthly stewardship meetings (Golder and/or client)
* Provide recommendations and direction with respect to the latest Golder (Regional / North America / Global) procedures, policies and guidelines
* Work with HR, OSI, WorkCare and the Regional HSSE Team regarding the management of WCB claims, by conducting physical and/or mental demands analysis, Worker Compensation Board employer report submission, return to work process and modified work programs
* Participate in the development of new initiatives, and systems as a member of the North America HSSE Team

Job Requirements:
* 2 to 5 years HSSE experience and knowledge in O&G or construction industry
* Strong familiarity with computers including MS Office Suite and database use
* Firm understanding and knowledge of regional OH&S regulations and codes
* Excellent proven problem solving and analytical skills
* Requires strong interpersonal skills with a high level of organizational abilities
* Ability to work alone and with others; excellent team player
* Must have a clean and valid driver's abstract
* Must be able to speak, read, write in both English and French
* CRSP, CSO and/or NCSO designation would be considered an asset
