Our Tucson office is currently seeking a junior-level Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with a strong academic background seeking a challenging career with a growth-oriented company committed to providing the highest quality of services to its clients.

We are seeking candidates with civil design, geotechnical or geological engineering backgrounds to participate in the design and construction of mining and transportation projects in the Southwest US and elsewhere. Knowledge of detailed earth science engineering fundamentals is mandatory.

Project work requires skills and training pertinent to civil engineering design, subsurface geotechnical investigations, geotechnical analyses, waste management facility design and permitting, construction quality assurance/management, and surface water design and management. Travel within the United States will be necessary for some field assignments. The expected work will include office-based engineering design and field work. Appropriate on-the-job training will be provided.

This individual will be responsible for:
* Performing field investigations for civil and geotechnical projects under specific work instructions, including scheduling field work for specific scopes of work provided by senior colleagues, executing field assignments, and understanding health and safety issues associated with the work. Field work may include geotechnical drilling and sampling, visual field reconnaissance, and soil and rock logging.
* Performing construction monitoring services under senior direction. This work includes observation and documentation of construction activities, materials sampling, coordination with testing laboratories, performing soil field tests such as moisture-density and permeability, and observation and testing of other geotechnical construction.
* Performing civil and geotechnical engineering calculations and analyses using hand and computer-based tools under senior direction.
* Assisting with the preparation of technical reports, including writing sections of reports, preparing figures and tables, and working with drafting and reproduction staff to produce final reports under senior direction.
* Performing other engineering activities as directed.
* Developing permit, design, and construction drawings using computer aided drafting platforms (e.g., AutoCAD).

Job Requirements:
Responsibilities:
* MS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering is required
* Zero to two years' work experience and proficiency in AutoCAD design and Civil 3D preferred
* Knowledge of geosynthetics, construction document preparation, construction quality assurance, and/or surface water hydrology is a plus
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with leadership ability
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as dictated by project demands
* Spanish and English speaking preferred
* Pass a pre-employment physical including drug screening and a background check
* Local candidates will receive primary consideration, no international relocation available for this position
