Job Responsibilities:
Golder is currently seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to fill the role of an on-call Junior Archaeological Field Technician. This posting is for an hourly position. The candidate will work with members of the Socio-Cultural Group from across Ontario, assisting with the execution of exciting projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable and diverse work experience.

We are presently looking for an individual to work mainly out of our London office and lab with the expectation that the candidate is available for fieldwork opportunities throughout the province, if presented.

* Provide technical services in a field and office environment;
* Carry out archaeological survey, test excavation, and mitigative excavation in a Professional Cultural Resources Management setting;
* Conduct archaeological assessment in a variety of work environments; outdoors in all weather conditions with occasional overnight stays during out-of-town projects (double occupancy);
* Participate in a team environment;
* Work with and provide support to other members of the field technician group in assisting with other field and office activities as required;
* Participate in Golder's Health and Safety program and culture as well as demonstrate a "Safety First" focus;
* Maintain a high standard of ethical behaviour to uphold Golder's reputation and demonstrate a commitment to our Destination Culture; and,
* Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
* Possess or is currently pursuing an Archaeology, Anthropology or related degree from a recognized program; or previous experience in archaeological fieldwork;
* The ability to observe and practice good field methodology (survey and excavation) at an expected pace;
* Knowledge of Ontario culture history is an asset;
* Access to transportation to Golder offices;
* Ability to work and thrive in a team environment;
* Good written and verbal communication skills;
* Strong organizational skills;
* Occasional heavy lifting may be required; and
* Ability to work flexible hours and willing to participate in out-of-town projects (double occupancy) when required.


Transportation to project sites will be provided from the London office. Field Technicians will be required to provide their own transportation to the office and be able to arrive for 7:30am or earlier in some cases.
