Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated mid-level Civil/Geotechnical Engineer with a strong background in soil mechanics to join our Mine Waste Design group. This is a full-time position based in our Perth office. You will be involved in a variety of technically challenging projects and have access to leading industry experts to mentor and guide you. This role will suit an individual with recent experience interpreting advanced laboratory testing, including triaxial and direct simple shear tests and field investigation (e.g. cone penetration testing) results to support selection of appropriate parameters for design analyses and undertaking the requisite analyses to support the design of a tailings storage facility. Experience in undertaking advanced geotechnical laboratory testwork will be highly regarded.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Interpreting results from laboratory testing and preparing summary reports;
* Developing a basis for defensible soil strength parameters, using laboratory and field results;
* Undertaking screening level and detailed design analyses to support the design of tailings storage facilities and other earth structures, initially under close guidance from our senior specialists, but with a view to carrying out such work independently;
* Undertaking geotechnical site investigations and reporting;
* Developing designs for tailings storage facilities and other earth structures;
* Preparation of technical deliverables such as proposals and reports; and
* Working with and providing support to other members of the group as required.

Job Requirements:
To be successful, you will have at least a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent, with a strong background in soil mechanics, and preferably post-graduate studies in soil mechanics. It is expected that you will have strong written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills and an enthusiasm for fieldwork. Previous consulting experience will be favourable.
