Job Responsibilities:
Immediate opportunities available in the Vancouver Office of Golder Associates for Junior CAD Technologist.
* Work as a member of multi-discipline project teams to provide engineering design and analysis on projects as directed by the engineer, consultant and/or project manager;
* Provide technical 2D and 3D drafting and design services and support;
* Prepare technical figures and engineering drawings containing plans, profiles, sections and details;
* Prepare scaled drawing sheet sets using external drawing references and data short-cuts;
* Perform various technical calculations and provide technical engineering and design analysis and assistance;
* Reduce survey data and field notes into drawing base plans;
* Work with and manage geo-referenced spatial data and have good working knowledge of various geographic coordinate systems, projections and geodetic datums;
* Reporting to senior staff;
* Responsible for quality assurance and control with adherence to global company standards, work flows and best practices;
* Interact and work together with other teams within the group to provide integrated services and support;
* Communicating and operating in a professional and courteous manner with team members, project teams and clients;
* Working collaboratively with staff from other Golder offices, as required, to meet project and client needs;
* Some travel to other Golder offices may be required;
* Performing other administrative and technical project duties as required;
* Demonstrating a "Safety-First" focus and acting as a role model to other staff; and
* Maintaining a high standard of behaviour to uphold Golder's reputation and demonstrating a commitment to our Core Values.

Job Requirements:
* Civil Technologist or Civil Technician Diploma or equivalent preferably in the diciplines of mining, geotechnical, ground or civil engineering, with 2 to 5 years of related work experience;
* Ability to effectively and efficiently work in a production environment with the following software is essential: AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office (specifically Word, Excel and Access);
* Strong understanding and effective use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D in a production design and 3D modelling environment (AutoDesk certification in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D an asset)
* Familiarity with various Civil and Municipal design and drafting standards;
* Strong and effective oral and written communication skills;
* Strong organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to demanding work assignments;
* Willingness to work in a team atmosphere;
* Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to identify alternative solutions.

Additonal Skills:
* Knowledge of other 3D modelling software such as Surpac, Vulcan, InfraWorks;
* Relevant surveying and/or construction experience;
* Consulting engineering and design experience;
* Project management experience;
* BIM experience.
