Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Staff Geologist to join our team in Richmond, VA. In this role you will have opportunities to use your knowledge of geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, physics, etc. to provide world-class consulting services to a variety of clients.

Other duties may include:
* Understand various regulatory environments and associated technical requirements
* Performing field work, data collection, data interpretation and evaluation
* Perform various media sampling (groundwater, surface water, soil, air, etc.)
* Providing technical support for geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, hydrogeologic testing, and groundwater monitoring and statistical analyses
* Perform office-based data review and geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards
* Perform subsurface field geologic exploration tasks including drilling and test pit explorations
* Oversee drillers and other on-site contractors
* Prepare boring and well construction logs
* Prepare state and federal level reports and other deliverables
* Interact with clients
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment
* Perform Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments consistent with ASTM standards
* Perform data compilation, report writing and other related duties to support a project team
* Routine project management duties - proposal preparation, tracking budget, schedule and resources
* Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients by providing technical expertise, attending client meetings, participating in industry events, and responding to requests for proposals.

Job Requirements:
* B.S. (minimum) In Geology, Hydrogeology or similar Earth Science; MS preferred;
* Minimum 5 years of environmental project experience, including project management, proposal writing, client contact and regulatory interaction
* Position requires travel and fieldwork
* Our ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communications skills, attention to detail, EQuIS training, and be able to function effectively as a team member
* Performance of work in inclement weather conditions following OSHA requirements;
* Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis during the course of work;
* Candidate must have a clean driving record and a valid driver's license as well as be able to drive a company vehicle
* Candidate must pass medical screening, drug screening and background check
