Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Civil CAD Designer for the Richmond, VA location.

In this position, you will utilize the latest Civil 3D software to provide design and drafting support for various civil engineering and environmental projects. Prepare construction drawings, including grading, drainage, and erosion sediment control pans, based on design input from project engineers. Maintain electronic CAD file system and compliance with internal graphics standards.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Utilize the latest Civil 3D software to provide drafting and design services while working closely with various engineering disciplines.
* Prepare engineering plans, grading, profiles, sections and details, for design, permit, construction, and record drawing sets; and figures for proposals, reports, and presentations
* Compile aerial and field surveys into base maps
* Create 3D surfaces representing various ground engineering features such as graded terrain, tailings depositions, haul roads, dams, open pits, quarries, landfills, channels, and ponds
* Be responsible for product quality control with adherence to company CAD standards and procedures

Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have sufficient training or on the job experience with Civil 3D 2014 or newer. Previous experience with civil, grading, drainage and site plans required. Design portfolio or example of previous work a plus.

The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
* Practical knowledge of Civil 3D including: alignments, feature lines, profiles, grading, surfaces, sheet set manager, and volume calculations. Corridors and pipe networks a plus
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and including Adobe Acrobat
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Good problem solver with the ability to identify alternative solutions or constructability issues
* Strong sense of commitment to CAD standards and procedures
* Ability to prioritize multiple projects/tasks and respond to the needs of several project managers
