Job Responsibilities:
Golder is currently seeking a responsive and responsible individuals to fill the role of on-call Geotechnical Field Support Staff. This posting is for an hourly position.

In this role you will work with members of the Southwestern Ontario Geotechnical Division from assisting with the execution of a project in the Chatham-Kent region. Opportunities are available through the London and Windsor offices of Golder Associates. This work is anticipated to require staff from mid-June, 2017 through end of September, 2017, subject to workload and client needs.
* Provide field support services to and follow directions of technical field staff;
* Carry out site observations and recording of these during the work day;
* Assist with transporting, installing and caring for vibration monitoring equipment under the supervision of full-time Golder staff;
* Work will be conducted outdoors in all weather conditions with overnight stays (double occupancy) in the Chatham-Kent region;
* Participate in a team environment;
* Work with and provide support to other members of the field technician group in assisting with other field and office activities as required;
* Participate in Golder's Health and Safety program and culture as well as demonstrate a "Safety First" focus;
* Maintain a high standard of ethical and responsible behaviour to uphold Golder's reputation and demonstrate a commitment to our Destination Culture; and,
* Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
* The ability to observe and practice good field methodology (field observations of work and related activities and recording of these in a log-book) at an expected pace;
* Transportation to the London, Ontario Golder office or valid driver's license and own transportation;
* Ability to work and thrive in a team environment;
* Good written and oral communication skills with a focus on professional behaviour at all times with technical staff, construction crews and general public;
* Strong organizational skills;
* Occasional heavy lifting may be required;
* Computer hardware troubleshooting skills will be an asset; and
* Ability to work flexible and long hours, potentially 10 to 12 hours on some days, and willing to participate in out-of-town projects (double occupancy).


Transportation to project sites will be provided from the London office. Personnel will be required to provide their own transportation to the office and be able to arrive for 7:30am or earlier in some cases. Alternatively, personnel will be required to arrive in the Chatham-Kent region at the appointed work times. Mileage costs for approved travel (to and from project site) and daily lodging will be compensated according to project-specific guidelines.
