Job Responsibilities:
We have a requirement for an Aquatics/Fisheries Technician in our Prairies and North operation (Calgary, Edmonton, or Saskatoon location).

Responsibilities include:
* Participating in field programs (e.g., collection of water, sediment, benthic invertebrates, fish sampling, and fish habitat data) for various types of developments including power, mines, oil and gas facilities, and pipelines.
* Willingness to travel and participate in remote field work, primarily within western and northern Canada and ability to adapt to unpredictable and/or inclement field conditions and changing schedules.
* Data entry, summarizing datasets, and preparing written and graphical material for incorporating into reports and presentations.
* Showing attention to detail - in the field, summarizing data and report writing.
* Able to develop positive working relationships in a team environment.
* Participate in Golder and Client H&S programs and policies.

Job Requirements:
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
* Technical diploma in Fish and Wildlife or University Bachelor's degree in Aquatic Biology or Environmental Sciences with 1-2 years of experience preferred.
* Understanding of basic sample collection techniques.
* Self-starter, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
* Effective communication skills.
* Attention to detail.
* Valid driver's licence.

The following skills are desirable:
* Good outdoor and survival skills and experience working in remote areas.
* Strong working knowledge of aquatic ecosystems within western and/or northern Canada.
* Experience operating boats, motors and ATVs.
* Experience with data entry, analysis and reporting writing.
