Job Description

Job Summary:

As a software developer in our manufacturing systems department, your core focus will be on providing Factory operator and manufacturing engineering user interfaces that tightly integrate with our manufacturing execution and business applications.

Responsibilities include ensuring the integration of all solution components, alignment on solution approaches with other manufacturing system developers as well as with key users on three continents (America, Europe, Asia).

After initial training, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to grow responsibility for projects and processes of strategic importance.

This position is open to entry level candidates, including University or College graduates.

Essential Responsibilities:

Enhance, maintain and develop user facing software integrated in our manufacturing systems landscape.

Interface closely with Fab subject matter experts (SMEs) and end users as key stakeholders ensuring the FAB needs and requirements are effectively incorporated into the strategy.

Extract, analyze and present necessary data to support the business case for new solutions and innovations across all locations.

Identify and develop best practices which will give GLOBALFOUNDRIES' competitive advantages.

Mid- to long-term identify, plan, and execute projects for the strategic planning process. Works with business stakeholders to provide business justifications for these projects.

Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering


* Demonstrated working knowledge of Java, J2EE and at least one Web-UI technology


* Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases


* Knowledge of build and source code control solutions



Preferred Qualifications:

* Masters degree or PhD in any of the areas listed above.


* Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate to senior staff and team participants, expertise in interfacing with internal customers and vendors.


* Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases


* Practical experience in AngularJS or Vadin


* Fluent in English in speaking and writing.


* Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and Manufacturing Flow processes and solutions.


* Experience with IBM SiView Manufacturing Execution System or other MES


* Background knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing
