What you'll do

Located in our Newington, CT facility, this position independently performs assigned accounting functions requiring the application of accounting principles and practices for the GKN Aerospace Engine Products East facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

* E-Time Responsible -Time keeping integration with Payroll (EV5)
* Processes employee expense reports accurately and timely within the critical processing deadlines, while ensuring compliance with GKN policy.
* Communicates with employees any found discrepancies and works to resolve in a timely manner.
* Trains and assists new employees with the online expense reporting system
* Administers Accounts Payables including posting PO invoices, non PO invoices, new vendor requirements, and payment runs.
* Administers Accounts Receivables with posting payments, depositing checks, manual invoices, and ageing reporting.
* Reconciles I/C balances, proactively addresses differences to swiftly reach agreeable I/C reconciliations within the GKN group and confirms.
* Actively contributes to the cash forecasting process.
* Administers payment runs and other treasury transactions, with cash reconciliation responsibility
* Month end closing & GRiP responsibilities.
* GR/IR Responsibility - accounting and reporting responsibilities.
* Sales Tax and 1099 (annual) reporting - preparation and submission.
* Intern proficiency matrix support - guiding and supporting the intern, with feedback ongoing.
* Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the company's goals and objectives

About you

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, with emphasis in accounting or finance.
* 2+ years accounting experience.
* 2+ years of experience of generally accepted accounting practices (US GAAP) with some familiarity with IFRS.
* U.S. Citizen per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in a finance role in the manufacturing industry highly preferred. Familiarity with SAP & Hyperion systems desirable.
* IT Systems and MRP/ERP implementation experience.
* Proven data entry skills and user proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Must display a high level of professionalism, sound judgment and confidentiality.
* Strong written, verbal, analytical and skills.
