PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The VDC Engineer leads the overall VDC effort on a design/construction project.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

VDC Engineer typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Produce virtual mock-ups and other modeling activities, construction phase VDC reports, meeting minutes, schedule updates
* Create fee proposals and forecast time requirements on projects
* Produce high quality work in a timely fashion with little direct oversight
* Effectively delegate tasks and monitor progress
* Mentor and develop any direct reports or Engineering staff on VDC technologies

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

* BS OR MS degree in Architecture , Civil Engineering, Building Science or Construction Management program acceptable
* 0-2 Years related experience
* Internship with a construction management firm or general contractor preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Detailed understanding of the design and construction process, including: virtual mockups, visual schedules, master plans, construction sequences
* Advanced user of BIM software applications such as Revit, Navisworks, Synchro, Solibri, Faro Scene, ReCap, and Microsoft Office
* Ability to assist with advanced VDC software troubleshooting and basic hardware troubleshooting
* Ability to adjust communication approach and format to meet the needs of differing personalities, expectations and types of clients and designers
* Ability to organize, format and present to communicate progress, problems or status in a clear, concise manner to the client, as well as members of the project and design teams
* Ability to handle video interviews and run large group webinars
