Job Description

Job Purpose: Process assigned requisitions and originate purchase orders incompliance within state, sponsored and federal regulations. Monitor activityrelative to contract provisions from inception to completion.

Major Responsibilities:

* Prepare purchase orders based on requirements ascontained in purchase requisitions.
* Coordinate activities relative to provisions ofassigned contracts; take follow-up action as required.
* Interface with GT faculty and staff on cross-functionalstrategic sourcing commodity teams relative to investigating/resolvingprocurement issues.
* Interact with general public and suppliers regardingprocurement policy and process.
* Adhere to provisions of cost containment strategies andsupplier management programs.
* Encourage/educate customers on benefits from use ofautomated procurement system (Buzz Mart).
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

* Education: TechnicalDiploma, Associate's Degree or two years college course work in Business orrelated field
* Work Experience: Fourto five years job related experience
* Certifications: N/A
* Skills: Thisjob requires basic knowledge of and skill in applying business purchasingprocesses and practices. This includes skills in negotiation, written andspoken communications and attention to detail. Use of standard office andspecialized computer applications is also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* PreferredEducation: Bachelor's degree
* PreferredCertifications: Certified Professional PublicBuyer (CPPB) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
