Internship Manager

The George Mason University, School of Business, invites applications for the position of Internship Manager. This position will engage students in planning for all experiential opportunities in business to include internships, externships and mentorship programs. The Internship Manager will be committed to developing and maintain strong partnerships with employer and alumni from the business community.

Responsibilities:

The Internship Manager has responsibilities in the following areas:

Experiential (Internship/Mentorship/Externships) Program Management:

* Directly supervise the Internship Coordinator;
* Work to prepare programs and services to support the experiential learning needs of undergraduate and graduate students to include internships, externships and the expansion of the Mentorship programs; and
* Ensure all students are aware and prepared to participate in a variety of experiential learning opportunities.



Employer Outreach:

* Identify, coordinate and implement employer outreach while maintaining knowledge of industries and industry trends for the purpose of engaging the local/regional business community to participate in hiring our students for both internships and all experiential learning opportunities



Internship Administration:

* Responsible for development and execution of all matters associated with the Internship and Experiential program and services in the School of Business that includes ensuring that all necessary applications, forms, and agreements related to student participation in the Internship for Credit classes support the needs of the students.



Workshops and Internship Program Development:

* Develop and present internship related workshops for the purpose of educating and engaging students in the experiential program in the School of Business and
* Create and implement new initiatives, programs, and services to better enhance the overall experiential learning experience of School of Business students.



Special Projects:

* Create and manage projects as part of the Career Services team to help achieve the goals of internship and experiential learning programs and services.



Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in business, counseling or higher education administration, or equivalent education and experience;
* Ability to develop, implement and manage academic programs and services;
* Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills; and
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.



Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience working in higher education, career services or other related experiential learning programs and
* Knowledge of business careers and the local/regional business community.
