Your Role

As an Graphics & Brand Design Intern in Gensler's Denver office, you will join our creative student environment for a full-time, paid internship opportunity beginning in June 2020 and ending in August 2020. You must be available for the entire duration of the program. You will use your design expertise to contribute to of a wide variety of project types, including environmental, print, digital, and brand development. You will be working under the mentorship of lead designers and will gain tremendous experience and insight into the project processes.

What You Will Do During This Internship

* Work closely with architects, interior designers, digital designers, and strategists to design and realize projects that seamlessly blend physical environments with branded experience.
* Participate in concept design and strategic project visioning.
* Gain knowledge of the spatial design process by designing in large scale and understanding technical drawings.
* You will have an exciting opportunity to work on environmental graphic design projects as a fully collaborative member of a design team, participating in design charrettes and learning sessions focused on delivering a successful project for our clients, large or small.
* In addition to hands-on learning, you will experience educational sessions and mentorship opportunities that include lectures, project tours, vendor visits and a group project.
* You will also enjoy the rich culture of our firm and the broader office community through a number of events and learning opportunities focused on supporting your professional licensure efforts.

Your Qualifications

* You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Art, Graphic Design, or other relevant program.
* You have completed your third year of an undergraduate program or first year of a graduate program. This internship is not for recent graduates.
* You are returning to your program after the internship and will be graduating within one year
* You submit an online portfolio that demonstrates a strong grasp of the fundamentals of graphic design - including color theory, typography, composition, and scale.
* Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
* Willingness to take direction and learn from design professionals from a variety of disciplines.
* Curiosity and enthusiasm to learn the elements of holistic, spatial experience design.
* Experience with CAD Tools and designing in architectural scale is a plus.
* Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
