Job Description

Genova Technologies has an immediate opening for a Part-Time HR Specialist (less than 30 hours/week) in our Cedar Rapids, Iowa office. This position is not benefits eligible. Hours and schedule are flexible.

The Part-Time HR Specialist will handle all HR related functions for Genova Technologies, which include, but are not limited to:

* Act as primary resource for managing visa applications (H1B, CPT, Green Card, TN, etc)
* Review and participate in terminations and disciplinary actions and investigations
* Lead the yearly selection/review and implementation of new benefit products and solutions
* Provide information to employees regarding health insurance benefits, coverage options, and enrollment processes
* Prepare offer letters and coordinate new hire onboarding activities.
* Maintain personnel files by collecting, recording and processing required documentation
* Schedule and facilitate new hire drug and background screens
* Conduct candidate reference checks
* Provide training and HR guidance to management on review procedures, documentation, etc
* Work with Engineering management to coordinate and schedule training for engineers as needed
* Assist recruiting team with formatting of resumes and uploading to the applicant tracking system


* Bachelor's degree in human resources, labor relations, organizational development, business or related area
* Proficient knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including federal and state EEO/AA practices and regulations, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
* Knowledge of a broad range of human resource strategies and practices, including compensation, performance management, hiring and employee relations
* Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Must possess a high level of honesty, integrity and ethics
* Strong organizational development and consultative skills
