Role Summary:

This Digital Electrical Engineer position will primarily be responsible for the development of digital control systems used within a Magnetic Resonance (MR) system. The successful candidate will join the MR RF & Digital HW group and interface with a global team to design, test and implement system transmit and receive control systems as part of new product introductions. The candidate will leverage knowledge of digital design techniques and communication standards to ensure a quality product.

Essential Responsibilities:

Duties include (but are not limited to):

1. Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction.

2. Provide technical support to team throughout product development and implementation process

3. Test and verify hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data

4. Model, build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with simulation

5. Lend technical expertise to Installed Base teams to support design fixes and customer

6. escalations

7. Develop VHDL code to support FPGA-based designs; be proficient in simulating and debugging design

8. Provide input requirements to software team to develop low-level drivers for communication lnks.

9. Select hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements

10. Engaging in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support

11. Update knowledge and skills in order to keep up with rapid advancements in

12. FPGA/communication technology

13. Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives in the MR product line

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. BS in Electrical Engineering

2. Experience or knowledge in the area of digital design and control

3. Demonstrated experience in VHDL designs and simulation tools (Altera, ModelSim)

4. Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.

5. Experience with typical electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.

2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.

3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Desired Characteristics:

1. Masters degree in Electrical Engineering

2. 2 years relevant work experience

3. Schematic capture experience

4. Working knowledge of PWA board bring-up and system integration experience

5. Demonstrated experience in design of standard bus formats such as PCIe, CAN, Ethernet,USB, and I2C

6. Demonstrated experience in MATLAB or equivalent simulation/modeling tool

7. Demonstrated self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task

8. Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills

9. Experienced in developing project plans and estimates

10. Effective oral and written communication skills

11. EMC compatible design/solution experience

12. Design for Reliability and Manufacturability experience

13. Working knowledge of GEHC tools and processes EQPM, MyWorkshop, Cadence

14. DFSS or Green Belt/Black Belt Certified (Six Sigma Design/Quality)

15. Circuit design and simulation tool experience
