Electrical Engineer, RF/Small signal

Role Summary:

This Electrical Engineer position will primarily be responsible for the development of RF & mixed signal designs used in a Magnetic Resonance (MR) system. The successful candidate will join the MR Digital & RF HW group and interface with a global team to design, test and implement analog, mixed signal & digital designs as part of cost productivity projects and new product introductions. The candidate will leverage knowledge of digital and mixed signal design techniques to ensure quality design.

Essential Responsibilities:

Duties include (but are not limited to):

1. Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction.

2. Provide technical support to team throughout product development and implementation process

3. Test and verify hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data

4. Model, build, test, and modify product prototypes using working models or theoretical models constructed with simulation

5. Capture electrical design schematic using an ECAD system

6. Review and approve layout done on the ECAD system

7. Select hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements

8. Engaging in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support

9. Update knowledge and skills in order to keep up with rapid advancements in digital technology

10. Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives in the MR product line

Qualifications/Requirements:

1.Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

2.Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures

3.Circuit design and simulation tool experience

4.Schematic capture experience

5.Working knowledge of PWA board bring-up and system integration experience

6.Experience with typical electrical test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, oscilloscopes

Quality Specific Goals:

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.

2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.

3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Desired Characteristics:

1.Masters degree in Electrical Engineering

2.2 years relative work experience in the area of mixed signal design

3.Circuit design and simulation tool experience

4.Design experience in applications of analog filters, RF amplifiers, mixer design, impedance

matching, ADC driver interfaces

5.Demonstrated experience in RF/Mixed signal simulation tools (Agilent ADS, PSpice)

6.Demonstrated experience in MATLAB or equivalent simulation/modeling tool

7.Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities

8.Demonstrated self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task

9.Excellent teamwork, coordination and communication skills

10.Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets

11.Experienced in developing project plans and estimates

12.Effective oral and written communication skills

13.EMC compatible design/solution experience

14.Design for Reliability and Manufacturability experience

15.Working knowledge of GEHC tools and processes EQPM, MyWorkshop, Cadence

16.DFSS or Green Belt/Black Belt Certified (Six Sigma Design/Quality)
