Location(s): United States; Michigan; Grand Rapids

Role Summary:

The Custom Logic Engineer provides direction and assistance to meet assigned objectives. In the role of Custom Logic Engineer, you will work within defined parameters to apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Tasks include:
* FPGA and CPLD design
* design porting
* verification
* test case creation
* test bench creation
* creating certification planning documents
* requirements management
* Participating in SOI Audits
* and customer reviews as needed



In addition, as the Custom Logic Engineer, you will:

Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements

Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers

Document and communicate results of technical data generated

Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives

Share engineering information and promote open dialogue

Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business

Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements:

BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Open to Edison Class of 2019 graduates

Desired Characteristics:

Ability to work independently

Strong problem solving skills

Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited university or college

Experience with DO-254 to perform avionics hardware design tasks

Previous internship performing custom logic tasks

Development to DO-254 and DO-160 standards

FPGA design experience

Prior work with GE global sites

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Highly motivated
