Manufacturing Engineer

Location(s): United States; North Carolina; Asheville

Role Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be involved with the engineering associated with the manufacturing of aviation components including, programming, automation, CNC machining and other complex processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

Own complete part manufacturing process which includes, CNC programming, process automation, closed loop machining, probing routines, process layout, fixturing and work holding, tooling designs, inspection technology and special processes, coatings, etc.

Partner with operations & quality teams to deliver cost, yield, lean, customer delivery schedules & other key performance indicators

Continuous improvement, error proofing & process refinement will be key deliverables to the role

Understanding emerging technologies, equipment and other innovative manufacturing trends in aerospace industry

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics or technology-based field from an accredited university or college

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Desired Characteristics:

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in high performing team environment

Ability to multitask & prioritize several deliverables in parallel

Ability to work independently, build project plans, and meet deadlines

Strong problem solving skills with very detailed and meticulous personality

Some knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, read / interpret technical drawings, blueprints and GD&T

Some prior experience with programming, software script writing or coding
