Electrical Engineer, RF/Analog

Role Summary:

This RF/Analog Engineer position will be responsible for development and integration of RF and/or analog subsystems used within a Magnetic Resonance (MR) system. The successful candidate will join the MR Beyond Hardware group and interface with a global team to design, test and implement design solutions for our next generation of products. The candidate will leverage knowledge of RF modeling and test verification methods to ensure a quality product.

Essential Responsibilities:

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Write detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction.

Design and develop various RF and analog hardware circuit boards

Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to understand system interactions and dependencies; account for these integration points within development plan

Supporting install base including Customer Satisfaction Opportunities, Site issues, Install and Warranty cost, Supplier design change requests, etc

Test and verify hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data

Work with vendors, technology suppliers and cross-functional staff to optimize RF/analog hardware designs

Construct MATLAB models and simulations to prove out design concepts; leverage models to build, test, and modify product prototypes

Capture electrical design schematic using an ECAD system; review and approve layout done on the ECAD system

Participate in technical design reviews, risk assessments, FMEA etc.

Engage in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support


BS in Electrical Engineering

Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.

Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Desired Characteristics:

Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.

Demonstrated analytical ability and technical competency in Electrical design.

Proven Leadership skills and experience.

Strong Initiative and ability to work independently and in teams.

Experience in one or more engineering tools and software languages: Matlab, Excel, Labview, ADS or alternate RF engineering simulation platform, Spice

Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering or manufacturing or research experience in the design field.

Strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering.

Demonstrated analytic approach to problem solving.
