Location(s): United States; Florida; Jacksonville

Role Summary:

The project / design Engineer will be responsible for leading projects and supporting larger initiatives which contribute to the design and development of Ignition and Sensor products, solutions and systems. Projects types include NPI, Production / Customer / Field problem investigation and resolution, and Legacy product improvement/obsolescence management. This position requires an understanding of technical concepts, methods and procedures (an Engineering Bachelor's Degree).

Essential Responsibilities:

In addition, as the Engineer, you will:

Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

* Project deliverables include (however not limited to):
* drawing packages
* design reviews
* hardware builds
* test plans
* & reports

Establish and maintain project schedule/budget and coordinate activities through use of cross functional IPT meetings, project management tools and processes, monthly project status reviews with leadership and Monthly Report generation

* Engineer must also identify and manage out of scope items and provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
* Participate as the presenter or reviewer in technical design reviews and program reviews both internal and external
* Engineer will also be responsible for closure of all assigned action items

Document and review technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Define and manage non-recurring and recurring development and production costs throughout the development effort

Drive design changes to accommodate / improve producibility

Coordinates Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations to resolve Production / Field issues

Disposition of Material Discrepancy Reports and Engineering Change Request

Authors Engineering Changes as needed

Provides a technical communication link with Customer or Supplier as required


Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university or college


This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Desired Characteristics:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with emphasis in either aerospace, mechanical, electrical or materials

Proven analytical and organizational ability

Demonstration of successful project planning and management

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Ability to influence others and lead small teams

Independently lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

Effective problem identification and solution skills

Understanding of basic GD&T, mechanical component design, and manufacturing
